Thunder rumbled across the horizon. Though it had just begun to rain it was already promising to be a very long, very wet night. Soaked, I knew I needed to find shelter and a warm place to sleep. I trudged through the mud of the road praying quietly to Erollisi Mar asking for compassion and mercy from the elements when I saw it. A light ahead... not just a light but an Inn. Thank You Goddess.
I walked up the steps admiring the fine craftsmanship of the sign.. it was a Dragon, shaded. Entering the common room squinting against the brightness, I saw all manner of people alone and in groups talking laughing and even a few napping by the fire. They looked my way as if to identify the stranger that let in the rain and the wind. "Greetings Traveler." said the barkeep, "Welcome. Dry yourself by the fire and give me a moment to bring you some ale." "Thank you," I said with a low bow, "It would be most welcome."
I then turned to the room and bowed again introducing myself, "I am Nykodemas Stormweaver the humble magician." As I made my way to the fire, some one asked "What brings you out this rain cursed night?" Turning to address the speaker I replied, "I...I don't know. My memories are gone. The last thing I clearly remember was four years ago. I just found myself wondering in the rain and then I came to this place." "You poor soul. " another said and then the room was alive with kindness and companionship.
I felt as if I belonged here. Such wonderful people. Maybe they would help me to rediscover myself and piece together the last four years. Thank you Goddess for answering my prayer... and so much more.
