A mystic portal opens on the floor of the Faydark, and Starlene, Thalisa, and Tylum emerge. Tylum sways on his feet but catches himself quickly, though slightly disoriented from the effect of teleportation. The three immediately make their way toward the lifts of Kelethin, which lie just over the low hill before them, the flets and bridges already visible through the trees.
As they approach the guards at the lifts, the Emerald Warriors nod respectful greetings to Starlene and smile at Thalisa. Tylum, however, draws their curious gaze, being an unfamiliar face. The young man is far too focused on the hours ahead of him to offer a smile, but he does notice their attention. He and the two women get on the lift without incident, and soon they are up in the tree city.
Tylum's first order of business is to procure some clothes which, while not tailor made, will certainly be a sight better than the worn, stained, and mended things he has on. Thalisa suggests a shop she knows, and he follows her advice and her lead to the tailor's door. Inside, he submits to be measured but repeatedly refuses the offers of tailor-made garments, sheepishly insisting that he just needs something now, and yes, off the rack is just fine. With a sniff, the tailor rifles through a few shirts and pairs of pants. A glance at Tylum's worn boots raises the tailor's eyebrow, and she suggests a cobbler, but Tylum shakes his head.
These'll do. Just, please, we're in kind of a hurry.
The plea in his voice finally gets through, and the shop-owner sighs, holding up a green shirt and black pants for him to try on. He takes them gratefully to a small backroom. A few minutes later, he returns wearing the new clothes but with his old boots and belt. He looks uncertainly at Starlene and Thalisa.
So, uh...this look okay?
At their approval, Tylum decides they fit him well enough, as well as anything else ever has, and he walks up to the counter, his old clothes bundled up under his arm. The tailor quotes him a price, and rather than argue, Tylum opens a pouch, explaining to the merchant that he hasn't got much coin, but he's been traveling a lot, and would this be all right in trade? Tylum deposits a small, opaque blue gemstone on the counter beside his gold and silver pieces. The tailor raises an eyebrow but nods and takes the payment. Nodding his thanks, Tylum turns and heads out of the shop with Thalisa and Starlene.
