Leaving the gates of the Sanctum, a half elven man on a black and white horse and a Teir'dal woman on a dark drogmor take the road heading toward the Highpass gorge. The two seem to be in high spirits with frequent conversation punctuated by occasional laughter. Keats points at the drogmor and half grins.
No, you missed it. I'm not worried about that thing "biting my head off." They're not equipped for that. What I said was that they're face-eaters, not "head-biters."
Kamdora's protests don't sway him a bit, though he's obviously joking. Once outside the Sanctum proper and traveling across the East Karana plains, Keats raps out a quick rhythm on the small drum he carries. Both steeds, being accustomed to such sounds, are unfazed as they suddenly and effortlessly begin to cover more ground. Every few minutes, Keats repeats the sequence to maintain the magical effects, though he lets them drop to a safer speed at the changeover on the gorge cliff and within the maze of Highpass proper. No point in taking chances of a long fall or running down pedestrians.
In Highpass, despite his habit of dropping into the Tiger's Roar or the Lumberyard at any opportunity, Keats and Kamdora bypass both taverns, making their way swiftly to the other side. It is only approaching midday, thankfully, due to their mounts' enhanced speed, and so without delay they enter Kithicor Forest. Just inside the pass, before they enter the woods, Keats refreshes their speed again and leads them out and to the left. Out of years of habit, Keats keeps to the mountainous perimeter of the woods. The undead that inhabit the forest are no match for the seasoned adventurers, but again...no point in asking for trouble.
