I won't be able to make it this time Matt, try to get Reridore some experience in kiting, make her equip a mug and a shield, and just cast her area effect terror spells. Tell her she'll be okay, and she doesn't even have to run around.
I'll be in chicago on the 12th-14th of the next three months, or well, basically second full week weekend. |

Do you have any more detailed tips for Reridore when it comes to kiting? What are the exact names of spells she should use, any AAs she should buy, etc? Your great kiting really made a huge difference for the fight against Vish, and I'd like to help Reridore gain confidence in that area if she's willing. Are there also some good places we could take 'Dore for practice?

Uhhnnnnahhhahhh yeah, kiting. I think you have a little more faith in my one AE terror spell than I do. When I say I haven't been keeping up, I mean it.

I will personally learn research, fight for the drop of, or buy your missing AE terrors. Don't worry about it 'Dore, all you have to do, is stand around, in a robe if you want to, and cast them, occasionally casting a single target spell. No running around, no confusion, you'll be totally okay. If someone dies, or spawns a lifedrain shadow, make sure you're facing the wraithful spirit/lifedrain shadow, because if they beat on your back, you will need healing. Elsewise, a level 80 heal over time potion would probably keep you up.
Just make sure to have damage shields off. Here are some of the spells you're missing: Dread Gaze AE Terror, not on a shared timer, level 69 OOW or DoDH runes, you could solo the mobs that drop the runes, or come loot one in Illsalin when I kill gloomfang/Slave Reget Terror of Discord Single target terror level 67 OoW/DoDH runes, I have a spare one I think. It's not really necessary since the other single target hates are more aggro Terror of the Soulbleeder Better single target terror, level 76, 1.1K plat from cogswin in dragonscale hills. Trial for Power Level 77'ish terror over time + self ac buff, dropped, or boughten with faction, ignore this since you can get Charge for Power from Zebuxxoruk. Revile Level 79 AoE terror, buyable for less than 2000 plat in the hills of shade. No shared recast with other terrors, so again, spammable. Umbral Skin Would be great to have, but we'd have to get it from the bazaar, or camp it, because rank 2 is faction only. It's a defensive proc. Terror of Jelvalak is your level 81 single target terror, probably the one you should get, since it's only 1400'ish plat in Oceangreen hills. Charge for Power is your terror over time with ac buff at level 82, and is less than 200 chronobines, if you need some, Draygos and I both have that to spare. Really, you only need to get revile. Getting Revile and Dread gaze will mean you can memorize 3 aoe terrors, and one single target terror, and just cycle casting them. As a 'kiter' you will have someone keeping an eye on your health, and you won't have any egg responsibility, or DPS responsibility, since you can't have a weapon equipped, you won't even target Vish. If you refuse, you can probably get a ranger to spam vinelash cascade for aggro, but that also roots the mobs, so if they're near people, and rootable, there'll be damage, so people may have to move around a bit. Unless another shadowknight shows up, you're the only high health character that gets damageless aggro easily. If Tirr shows up, she's really valuable for eggbreaking/Vish damage, or tanking in case something goes wrong and Matt drops, but she probably can kite on top of all that other stuff, though her aggro is mostly from damage, so there'll be a lot of lifedrain shadows on accident.

There is an AE snare which I think rangers get as druids and rangers share that spell line. Surely that would work good for aggro kiting purposes and not have the drawback of hitting people like root would cause?
Also where would you recommend Reridore practice? Thanks again so much for your help, Kar! Dore, I didn't know you were so far behind on spells. Make sure you update your spell checklist and we'll make getting these spells for you a priority. |

Sadly Star, I've checked, and Ranger's don't have any spells with "decrease movement" that aren't single target on alla's page: http://everquest.allakhaz...Higher&action=search . So their only reliable multi target spells are either hail of arrows, or vinelash cascade. They also have invoke lightning, but it's an unreliable 4 target damaging AoE heh. Actually, the spells I've listed are the only spells they have that aren't single, self, or group v2 targeting.. *Chuckles*
She could practice in the Vish raid, it's hard to mess up, only death and interrupts, and someone overhealing her, can really hurt things, and those wouldn't be her fault. other places to practice are simply running around newbie zones, or old dungeons (I recommend Sebilis, at least then you'll be making money), and seeing how many mobs you can rack up, with a merc healer healing you, without letting the merc healer take the swarm off you. Also, with the new free EQ players, it's okay if 'Dore doesn't update her spell list, I'm willing to check up on her once in a while if she wants my help.

Oh I didn't even think of EQPlayers! That's a helpful way to determine what spells are missing although it doesn't seem to always update correctly.

Another victory, down with 14, 3 deaths. Entirely Adventure Sunday doable.

Hey, nice! I'm sorry I couldn't make it; I literally just got home.
Does this mean we move up in the tier rankings? |

Technically no Reridore, since we had too many guests, although I don't care about tier listing in the first place. We also cleared the first tier of Demi-plane of Blood. Perhaps we can go to tier 2 on Sunday...

Great show, Matt! Once again, I'm truely impressed with the Sigils' ability to take on big events with few people. Quality over quantity

Hatchet has to be my favorite event in both EQ and EQ2. Definitely was a fun night.
I only died once, AND that was because I was punted into that ugly zombie. I feel so safe with you all. ~gush~ |

Hatchet is in EQ2?

Karilis Vanoth |

whether he is or not, I think Kan meant, out of all the fights he has done in both, he likes Hatchet the most. I hear it's the most basic, yet most fun scripted event in all of EQ. Heh

Enokhaon |

He's definitely not the most basic; Ture surely counts as the most basic (message = AE rampage). What makes him fun, in my opinion, is that he makes so many individuals responsible for paying attention. There are three messages you can get that give you an instruction you need to follow, or you suffer 100k damage. In addition, he will occasionally charge someone, and if he catches them, it sets off a small AE range 100k nuke, so the person getting chased can't get caught or they risk killing their friends. Then, you have to put Hatchet into a bear trap every so often to unlock his health so you can hurt him further.
There are adds during the event, but they're not overwhleming. Enok |
