I found this scroll in my bags. It was a bit dusty, and certainly very old. *sigh*
Dis is da story ub Gogak.
Gogak likes bein an Ogre. He can no remembers a time him no like bein one. Gogaks childhood was one not much difrent frum any udder Ogre kid. He played catch da skul behin da Craknek guild (where der is always a gud supply ub dem!), chase da armerdilo, even swimmin in da wata roun da warrior guild. Nuttin much happen da early years ub Gogaks life. But sumptin very special happen ta Gogak in dat time him not quite an Ogre, but nedder him be an ogrelin. Gogak always be brighter den most ub da udder ogrelins. He not de tuffest, not da fastest, but him learns tings da quickest. Gogak himself not notice dis, since his friends dey no care. Dey liked da fact dat Gogak culd always sneak into da Ogre places where ogrelins not allowed. It was just dat ting dat changes Gogak's life for evers. On a day no more specials den any udder, Gogak decideds him goes sneaks into da caves ub da Shaman guild. Gogak drawn always to da Shaman. Not bein a gud skul craker, and not likin da dark ways ub de Shadow Knights, and not wantin to jus cook fish hed soup all day, him always secretly hopes him culd be a Shaman. Gogak not knows dat his wishes be comin true. Now Gogak can no just sneaks past all da Shaman, so he goes to da dark Shadow Knights, and asks da mightie knights if der are any lizzie man tails dat he might take to da Shaman. As Gogak had hoped, some young Ogre has just bringed in 8 lizzie man tails. With only a minor threat to suck da life out ub me bones if me not completin my task, Gogak hurry off to da Shaman guild. Now Gogak wus jus lookin to poke his big nose aroun, see if him culd see, maybe even hears, some ub da great Shaman ub Oggok. As Gogak reached da guild, him not find any ub da shaman who normally watch da guild entrace. Dis make Gogak wunder if maybe hims can really sneaks in now. Leavin da tails inside da entrace, Gogaks heded into da guild. Gogak now really gettin worried, since der still no Shamans! Da farther in he went, da darker it got. Till not even da slightest ting culd be seen, even ta Gogak nite eyes. Now at dis point, Gogak creepin long da wall, not seein nuttin, when he comes to an open space. Gogak is gettin scaredy at dis point, and but he sees floatin in blakness a light, almos so tiny he tinks eyes playin tricks. Curiosity winnin out over da fear, Gogak slowly steps toward da light. Now dis light start movin, fasta and fasta as Gogak get closa. But it also gittin bigga and bigga! It start flyin round Gogaks hed, divin and swoopin, like it want to hurt Gogak! At dis point Gogak almos terryfied to death. But him gettin angry also. Finally, da light rises up and up, higher den Gogak culd tink possible, den in come straight down, heded right fer Gogak's big hed. In a muv dat was more desparation den anytin else, Gogak lets out a bellow and raises up his hands as if ta strike down da light. But instead a small, but impressive ball ub fire leaps from Gogaks hands, lightin da whole room. As if da dark had nebber ben der, der was light. Around Gogak stood de entire Shaman guild, old and new. As Gogak knelt on day cold stone, Marda, wisest ub all da Ogre race, came forward ta Gogak. She kneels down next ta me, and tells me dat I have da spark (me learns later dat she also like puns, but me was so confused, me not git it till much later). I had shown befo all de udders dat I was one wit da gift, dat Might Rallos Zek had gibben me a might task. I was Shaman. Great Marda told me dat I must now spend my life learnin to channel da great power out God had granted me. With dat, me life was never da same. I was taught to create da burst a flame wheneber I needed it, and also to create da Inner Fire. Once mastaed does, I was sent out into da wulrd. I was told to hunt, to fight, but always, always, practice my new found majiks. Now Gogak learn quik, and him earns enough from his huntin to buy many spells. But he feel sometin missin. Gogak feel great power in him, but not happy jus usin it ta crak skuls. Den da little elfie Wyndorn came to da feerott. Gogak was bashin spidies, which make his skin crawl, and to his surpise, a tiny little elfie appeard in da distance in da middle ub da Druid ruins. Gogak belowed out to his friends Ubergud and Bulk , who were out with Gogak to rid da Feerott ub spidies. As da thunderin threesome ran up to da ruins, dey notice dat da little Elfie not run. Curious now, dey run right in front ub da little guy. More nimble an graceful den any ting Gogak ever sees, Wyndorn introduces his self. He den tells us a story ub himself, and it be almost as if I hear me own heart talkin to me. Here in da midda ub da Feerott, wit spidies crawler all ober da place, dis little elfie tells me what me life is missin! Right der on da spot, Wyndorn brings me into da guild. But me is not de only one who is mezermerized by da little elfie. Bot ub me friends, unknowns to me, felt da same way. On dat day, da thunderin threesome became da first Ogre ub Aven du Sora. It has been many moons since does days. Gogak is still young, and still make many mistakes. Sand Giants come to mind, usually at night in nightmares! So me not tell all da stories now, for der are to many to tell, and so many more to come!

The Continuing Story of Gogak
Compliled from the accounts of Shalkai Windchaser, Oedipus Rex, Bulk, Ubergud, and members of Aven du Sora
Scribed by Brother Thestus Rex, order of the Ashen Hand
Much of Gogak's early life was spent in the Feerott, and there is little to tell of it. The jungle surrounding Oggok is a dense and fetid area filled with young frogloks, lizards, and spiders. Hence, Gogak spent many a day stubling around the jungle learning his new powers. He lifelong friend, Bulk, shared the early days with him. To tell a tale of each day would be long and tedious. Wake, eat, hunt, sleep. There are life to a young Ogre.
But as Gogak and Bulk grew in experience, so did there desire to take on new challenges. The constant struggle between the lizards and Ogres was a great concern, and the large twosome sought to rid the Feerott of the scout camps that had been reported. Following the scent of their fires, they would sneak near the camps, lay in wait, and attack the unsuspecting lizards. The early days found them running for the gates of Oggok more often than not. Soon they began recruiting others to their cause, and slowly learned the value of numbers against their enemies. Within weeks, they were removing the camps as fast as the lizards could make them.
Passing their knowledge on to their younger Ogres, Bulk and Gogak began to explore the darker side of the Feerott. The Feerott was split by a slow moving river, which served as a boundry for young Ogres. Across that fetid stream were the true dangers of the Feerott. Undead had invaded one end, specters the other. And due south of Oggok, across a narrow bridge, the fallen temple of Cazic Thule, protected by his lizard minions.
Over the next few months, Gogak and Bulk began the first test of their skills. They began invading the camps of the lizard mystics. They attacked the warriors as they slept and ate. And when no lizard date stand against them, they moved to the footsteps of the great temple itself. There they brought the wrath of the Craknek Warriors and the Shaman of War to the home of the lizards.
It was truly a simple time for them. But as Gogak used his power over the spirit world, he became more aware of the world around him. He began to hear a call that few Ogres hear, and fewer follow. The jungle around him began to feel confining. Having a lizard cower in his grasp lost it's appeal. Smashing skeletons began to tire with him. He needed to escape the simple-minded views of his home, and explore the lands around his home.
Being wise beyond his years, we waited till he could harness to spirit of the wolf, and a season of learning beyond that before he would venture forth. It was this patience that was to be a defining moment in his life. While crunching froglok pickles near the old druid circle, basking in the tepid mist around him and his two friends, a young Wood Elf appears out of nowhere. Now, this was not a normal Elf. Most Elves don't just stand around in the middle of three 12 foot high Ogres.
"Hello young Ogres!" he chimed. "I am Wyndorn Windchaser, guildmaster of Aven du Sora." As the three of stood slack-jawed, which as Gogak tells it was quite a sight, the tiny elf bowed to each of them.
"I am in search of those who seek balance in the world"
Gogak, not even having to think about his answer, leaned over and looked into the small eyes of Wyndorn.
"Me tink we is whacha lukin fer, " he said, in his voice like boulders rattling together.
With a florish, Wyndorn welcomed them into the fold of Aven du Sora. He sat with them for sometime, explaining the mission of his guild. Gogak knew that his life would have great meaning now, as he could spread the word of Aven du Sora amoung the peoples. And what better way teach people the way of balance than sending a 12 foot high Ogre Shaman?
Oasis and Beyond
Where does one begin a journey away from one's home? Gogak knew that the mountains the West were not for him. He had heard the stories of frightened travelers who would rather risk a night in the Feerott than spend another minute in those haunted mountains. He decided that he would first visit the swamp to the south-east of the Feerott. It was on this journey that Gogak was to meet his greatest friend, who would soon become the brother that Gogak never had.
The most humorous thing about this friendship is who Gogak met. While sitting on the edge of the swamp, Gogak saw a tiny figure winding it's way among the trees of the swamp. Now Gogak was a little wary of things, being farther from home than he had ever been. For the second time in his life, a tiny wood elf stopped in front of him, bowed, and spoke to him!
"Hail Gogak!" said the miniscule man. "I am Shalkai, and it is good to make your aquaintence. I heard that Wyndorn had found Ogres worthy of our cause, and I had to come see for myself."
"Hey der!" rumbled Gogak in reply. At once, Gogak was at ease with this tiny man.
Now stop and picture this a moment. The lumbering frame of Gogak, bulging with strength and power. The lithe body of Shalkai, slim and sleek.
The two were seldom seen apart again.
The two of them began to share their stories, their histories. And Shalkai began to teach Gogak the ways of the world. The two began to travel in and around the swamp, the Southern sections of the Ro Desert. They found themselves falling into an easy rythym, which was not surprising, as Shalkai was a young bard in training. As they grew in their friendship, so did they grow in skill. Just as Gogak and Bulk has learned to battle together as one force, so did Shalkai and Gogak. Shalkai, however, was most knowledgeable in things unknown to Gogak. He began to learn new ways to use his potent magic, and harness the spirits against his foes. In a short time, they began to prowl the sands around the Oasis of Marr. It was here that the relationship was cemented. As they unlikey duo fought wave after wave of the orcish horde, they learned to rely on one another.
They also made frequent trips to the Common Lands to hunt bears and wisps when they tired to the harsh, dry sands of Oasis. Here Gogak learned first hand the hatered of his people by others in the land. Gogak lent his hand against the Orc's that plagued the land around Freeport, but was neve able to gain the full trust of the guards. Gogak also learned how the protectors of the forest felt about having an Ogre among them. As he lay bleeding and lifeless after his introduction to them, he realized that his journey would be along and harrowing one, but vowed to then and there to never give up his goal of seeking to rid the land of unneeded hatred against others.
It was that this point that Shalkai felt Gogak was ready to see more of the world. Both had grown in experience, and felt that others were better suited to keeping the Orcish inavasion at bay. Shalkai, ever the wanderer, had heard word from his fellow bards that the plains of Karana held promise for two of their skill, and off they journied. They stopped briefly in the Rathe mountains. Well, to hear Gogak tell the tale, Shalkai for once got them lost, and they stumbled across a lonely Orc outpost. Shalkai's tale differs slightly, but since this is Gogak's story, I felt in more appropriate to take Gogak's side in this telling. They spent some time drawing the Orcs from the safety of their fire, and in time had cleared the camp. Riding high from this success, they continued the journey north. They borrowed a canoe from the dock in Lake Rathe, and paddled their way to the narrow canyon leading to the vast plains of Karana. It was here that Gogak truly felt he was beginning to see the world. Aviaks, Gnolls, Elephants, Lions, Centaur, Griffons, and any number of other creatures amazed Gogak as he journeyed north. Shalkai led them to the Northern part of Karana, where the animals of the plains seemed under a spell, and were attacking travelers in great numbers. One after another, they began to reduce the beatle population of the area.
For many of month, they roamed the hills and plains of Karana. As the beatles grew less, they moved to Eastern plains to hunt gnolls. They help hold back the Aviaks in the souther plains. They ventured north to the Beholder Maze. Giant spiders in the hills leading to High Pass. High Pass to help hold back the gnolls from the gates of High Keep.
It was there, among the jagged foothills leading to High Pass, that both of them became masters of their talents. Shalkai with pride took on his family name of Windchaser. Gogak, not having a name beyond that which his mother and father had given him, decided that he would start a great family, and started the family line of Gigantus.
Gogaks Friends
One would be remiss in telling the tale of Gogak without also telling the tale of some of the people that helped Gogak along the way. Gogak worked very hard to make all he met like him. From the lowest Gnome, to the tallest Barbarian, Gogak made efforts to charm and woo all he met. Some did not see past his orangish skin and large size. Others, while wary at first, realized that within the gigantic, fearsome frame was a soul that was warm and caring. And among these people Gogak made himself some friends outside his guild.
