Talitha and Shalkai journey uneventfully across the Karanas and up the long pass to the Hold. They wend their way through the twisty trails, using their
skills to escape the notice of any pesky gnolls. Soon, they are at the Tiger's Roar, and comfortably ensconced at a balcony table. The waterfall across the
pond provides a wonderful view, as well as chill wafts of mist to cool the red-faced travelers from their long hike up the mountain.
A light lunch is soon served, and they nibble their way through it, while Shalkai laughingly recounts the tale of his first ill-fated journey to Highpass so
many years ago. This puts him in mind of another Highpass tale, which he promises to relate to Talitha when they are in Kelethin, along with showing her an old
letter from Gogak Gigantus describing the events as only an Ogre can. Soon enough, the meal is done, and they are down to sipping the last of their wine.
Shalkai asks Talitha to relate once again how she ran into Akierra in Highpass after she left her long retreat in a secluded temple of Mithaniel. Even now,
after all that has passed, Shalkai is still amazed at the apparent hand of the gods themselves guiding Talitha to Sigils.
