A half elven man with brilliant green eyes and a ready smile beckons you into the Shady Dragon Inn and waves you toward a table near
the hearth. As he waits for you to be seated, he pours a glass of Gypsy Wine for himself, takes your drink order, and comes to the table with both beverages.
Handing you yours, he smiles again and introduces himself.
Welcome to the Shady Dragon! Glad you could make it. I'm Keats Lovesonnet, Sigil of the Silver Tongue, of the Order of the Wayfarers; I serve the guild as High Sigil, so it's my job to chat with you about this step you wish to take: discovering the Call of a Sigil in your life. It's one of those things that some people have and some people don't...it doesn't matter necessarily what degree of power you've attained, the race you were born into, or the profession you follow...
Shrugging slightly, the bard gives an irrepressible grin, takes a sip from his glass, and continues.
...but, as I was saying, if you think you've got the Call in your life, this is the right place to be. We'll see what we can do to help you bring that Call to fruition by discovering and Naming your Sigil. Here's what you'll need to do:
First, of course, we need to know who you are. Now, you've found the Shady Dragon Inn, but you're going to have to make the first move by starting the conversation. ((That is, you'll need to start a thread here by registering an account with Yuku, preferably under your character's name, and making a "New Post" or joining a thread already in progress. We're a roleplaying guild, so please keep this new post in character.))
Second, you need to know what you're getting yourself into, so please familiarize yourself with our rules and charter.
Keats slides some pieces of parchment across the table for you to peruse.
Third, please copy the following form into a scroll, fill it out, and send it by bardic courier to the Council. ( SigilsCouncil@gmail.com )
*Class, Level, Race and Deity are optional information. You don't have to provide them if you do not wish to at this time.
Fourth, see what you can do about spending time with us, both on the battlefield and simply roleplaying, in Norrath. Keep an eye on the Shady Dragon Inn and the Community Calendar for upcoming events (which are also listed at the top of the main page as they draw closer). Also, look for a Council member in Norrath at your earliest convenience for an informal interview. They'll want to talk with you a bit, and if it goes well, you may receive a courtesy invitation to the guild from them at the Applicant level. Please do not assume that this will happen; it is a privilege and not a right. If it is not offered, it does not mean that your bid for candidacy is over. Simply proceed to Step Five.
Fifth, you will present yourself for candidacy at a meeting of the guild. These meetings take place in Norrath, usually on the first Sunday of the month. Your presentation must be scheduled ahead of time and must be preceded by the aforementioned steps 1-3 at the very least, so please be sure to speak with a Council member well in advance of the meeting time so that your presentation can be "advertised" to the guild. Ideally, you should approach Keats, the High Sigil; Shalkai, the Chancellor; or the Grand Sigil of your Order; but if none of us is available, any officer will suffice. At the meeting, you will be expected to be in character, to present an in-character explanation of your desire to become a Sigil, and to answer in-character questions from the guild regarding this decision. A vote will be taken immediately following your presentation, and you will be informed of the results right away. If your presentation is accepted by the Sigils present, you will be granted candidacy...
The bard chuckles and takes another sip before going on.
...but that's "Phase 2," and it can be discussed later. First things first!
Keats smiles encouragingly and holds both hands open and slightly spread, palms up.
Any questions?
I'm here to answer.
